A very simple DIY from Ikea but it resulted in an archaic and cheap product from the Swedish furniture giant:
“If you like to read, chances are your house will end up invaded by piles of books that will take over every possible shelf and then start occupying the tables.
And when the books invade a table they will not leave you room to eat at it for fear of staining them, so… why not cover them with a glass?
For this project, we will need a glass that is the same size as our Lack table (55×55 cm.), and we will use books as decoration. The best thing to do is go to a second-hand bookstore searching for cheap books (we won’t dismantle the table every time we want to read one of our favorite books) whose measurements can match those of the Lack table.
We will place the books on the table attractively and pleasingly, combining volumes and colors, until we get stacks of equal height. We have used colored pencils to level the books in the central area and give an exciting look to the whole. Then we will place the glass over the books to obtain a striking showcase effect”.
I love it!
