You have to see what the famous Lack side tables from Ikea can do, and that is that people’s imagination has no limits! No wonder, because with how cheap they are (4’99 euros), it’s like buying a dozen of them and thinking about different uses: a headboard, a bedside table, an auxiliary table in the living room…
Today’s hacking/tuning/DIY is straightforward, with five Lack tables, two foam boards, and a curious fabric you can make a bench for the terrace that works well:
The creator of this DIY has already tested it and assures that the tables support the weight correctly, so don’t worry about that, although if you plan to spend hours sitting down, I recommend that the foam is good. Playing with the different colors available at Ikea and the texture and design of the fabrics, the possibilities are endless. Personally, I would try with the color walnut or black and maroon materials with details in raw or black, with cushions in chocolate color or metalized. Or more simply, with the black and white binomial of all times, without complications: black tables, white-crude seats, matching cushions.
To complete the invention, you can get a wooden pallet in good condition and paint it to match the Lack tables, so you get practically a free table to complete your terrace game. Add some cushions, a plant, and some candles with colored glass supports and create your chill-out atmosphere for the summer nights to come!
