With the current times, many of us cannot afford very spacious housing, and in the face of the crisis, it is time to sharpen our wits. Many people resort to giving the house a wide visual range by throwing in partitions, which also brings light, but personally, I like having walls or at least feeling a little intimacy. For one or two people, removing barriers can be great. Still, as the family is a little bigger, you can resort to the intermediate solution we propose below: a false partition as a screen can be, but in addition to being personalized, with utility, thanks to the Ikea Billy bookshops.
“If you have a studio or a loft and you are a bit overwhelmed by not having walls, or you want to separate different areas of the studio so that you don’t have the bedroom in the living room and also in the kitchen, nothing better than this idea we propose to create an interior division and thus obtain a separate “bedroom” in which to snuggle up.
As usual, studios do not usually have much room available to store books or other objects, so this solution will also take into account that lack of space.
To build this dividing cabinet and “sleeping corner,” we will need five Billy shelves: four large and one small. By arranging the bookcases in an “L” shape in front of the entrance door, we will also get a kind of corridor. The first Billy bookcase, facing the door, will be the small one, which we can use as a piece of furniture for keys and mail, or as an umbrella stand.
We can also add to this Billy bookcase a couple of green glass Rubrik kitchen doors, fixing them to the lower shelves to get a shoe cabinet.
The other Billy bookcase will be orientated inwards to be used as a bedside table at the head of the bed. In the back of this bookcase, we can place a coat rack to hang some clothes and have them at hand when we enter or leave the house. Be careful that the screws are fixed to one of the shelves, so they will have enough strength to support the clothes’ weight.
We can paint the face of the Billy bookshelves overlooking our “sleeping corner” on the other side with some paint we have around the house, and better if the color we choose matches the bedding color. Finally, let’s find a colorful lamp that brings warmth to the bedroom.”
